On October 8, 1862 this location became the site of one of the most destructive civil war battles in the state, leaving more than 7600 killed, wounded or missing. The battle at Perryville is said to be the last serious attempt by the south to take Kentucky. This location has been featured on Ghost Adventures (S08E11).
